Missing Goodyear woman found dead | News

Jessica White, a 34-year-old woman from Goodyear’s Estrela Mountain Ranch community, went missing on Easter and was found dead on April 16.

Her body was found with a car in the Navajo County woods.

White’s mother, Julie Marks, who lived with her, said she had no reason to believe her daughter would run away.

White and Marks lived together at Goodyear for about a year. After Marks’ husband died, the pair moved from San Marcos, California to the Valley to downsize.

“She did a really good job here,” Marks said. “She was happy; she was probably the happiest I’ve seen in a long time. She’s not in any kind of relationship.”

Marks said White led a very active lifestyle. She had the impression that her daughter had left to go hiking near the Estrela Mountain Ranch community.

Marks said her community gym was closed for the Easter holidays, so White had to find another place to train. She doesn’t know exactly which hike her daughter was on.

“She loved hiking and was someone who worked out almost every day,” Marks said. “(She’s) in great shape. Our HOA gym was closed for Easter.”

After White went missing, Marks obtained her cell phone records. There was no evidence of suspicious activity.

“Nothing; she hasn’t been in touch with anyone in the last few days,” Marks said. “She didn’t go see anyone or anything.”

A Goodyear Police Department detective rang Ms. White’s cell phone and said she was last seen near Highway 260 near the city of Overgard, nearly three hours from Estrela Mountain Ranch. turned out to be.

“She never intended to drive that far,” Marks said.

Marks said White didn’t intend to be outside for long when he left, as evidenced by the fact that everything left in the room was still there.

“She had everything packed for work on Monday,” Marks said. “She left her wallet full of credit cards. She didn’t always carry credit cards, but she forgot her phone charger. There was no.”

Marks said he called Goodyear police at 7 a.m. on April 10 to report his missing daughter, and White said he would never have gone anywhere overnight without telling her.

“She hasn’t been out at night for over a year,” Marks said. “She knows I worry. Sometimes she would work overtime. If she wasn’t home at a certain time, I would text her. They say, ‘Mom, I was just working overtime.'”

Marks said he suspected “some wrongdoing”.

“Maybe she was out hiking and something happened and they took her car and took her phone too. I don’t know,” she said. “I think it’s some kind of cheating.”
