Missing Woman Found In Swamp After Hikers Heard Her Screams For Help

A Massachusetts woman who has been missing for more than a week was found alive Monday after hikers heard her screaming for help near a wetland in a local state park.

Emma Tetewski, 31, was found alive by Easton Police Department officers after hikers walking through Borderland State Park heard a woman screaming for help from the wetlands and called 911. was done. according to Joint statement from Easton Police, Easton Fire Department and Stoughton Police.

When officers arrived at the scene, they heard Tetewski’s voice, but they could not see her in the swampy surroundings. Despite the harsh conditions, three officers stepped into the turbid water 50 feet from the shore and eventually found Tetewski, the statement continued.

“I commend the Easton police officers who blindly jumped into the water and followed the woman’s call for help,” Easton Police Chief Keith Boone said in a statement.

“Their immediate action saved Emma Tetewski. We also want to thank the amazing fire department, the Rangers at Borderland State Park, and the hikers who heard Emma and called 911. Without this coordinated effort, this rescue would not have been successful.”

Teteuksy was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital where her injuries were not life-threatening and she was being treated, the statement continued.
