Missouri’s Katy Trail State Park named one of the nation’s best

Missouri, USA — Missouri State Park was recently named one of America’s best parks.

Katy Trail State Park 13th Best State Park In the US, according to the website TravelAwaits. The park was included in the list of “15 Best State Parks to Visit in the United States”, part of the annual Best of Travel Awards.

TravelAwaits noted that Katy Trail State Park is a “unique and immersive experience” in Missouri.

This state park was built on the former track of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas (MKT) Railroad, which runs 340 miles long. According to TravelAwaits, the railroad spans nearly the entire width of Missouri and is the longest continuous rail trail in the nation.

A portion of the trail between Cooper and St. Charles counties has been designated as an official section of the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail, according to the park’s website.

TravelAwaits said, “The bikes will allow you to cycle through picturesque farmlands, quaint towns and lush forests while enjoying spectacular views of the Missouri River.”
