America clearly dreamed of a Yankees-Dodgers World Series — and so did I.
The 2023 World Series matchup between the Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks was a true snoozefest in terms of brand appeal, and the lack of a national audience was reflected in the TV ratings. As the 2024 Fall Classic between the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers approached, MLB had hopes that World Series ratings would rebound.

The World Series began Friday night, and Game 1 went off in incredible fashion for both Major League Baseball and the Foxes. Of course, the Dodgers too.
The opening game of the Fall Classic drew a massive 15.2 million viewers, setting a new record for viewers. almost 18 million According to Fox Sports PR, the contest is nearing its end. It was the most-watched Game 1 in MLB since 2017, when the Dodgers faced off against the Houston Astros. When compared to the previous year in 2023, it will be an increase of 62%.
