BULLHEAD CITY – Mohave Community College, MCC Foundation and ARIZONA@WORK are partnering for this year’s Bighorn Trek event.
Formerly known as Connecting the Community (ConCom), the event features university programs and companies that employ program graduates. ARIZONA@WORK will hold a large recruitment event where many companies within the Tri-State are looking for employees, so job seekers are required to bring their resumes. The annual MCC Show and Shine Car Show are also key features of the event and help highlight the university’s automotive crash repair and automotive service programs.
According to an MCC press release, Bighorn Trek’s goal is to connect community members, students, and business leaders to a single purpose to help improve lives and communities.
Bighorn Trek is a free community workforce event on March 30th from 10:30am to 3:00pm at Mojave Community College Bullhead City Campus. A good career with a salary that supports a family.
Gary Cooper, Dean of Student and Community Engagement at Bullhead City Campus, said:
Sean Bristol, MCC’s Chief Institutional Planning and Advancement Office, led the effort to bring the event to the Bullhead City campus in 2018 under the banner of connecting communities.
“We are very pleased that this has evolved into the Bighorn Trek and is now held on all campuses. said Bristol.
You will have the opportunity to meet with university faculty and local business and community leaders who are experienced and ready to talk about the skills they need to succeed.
ARIZONA@WORK Business Services Coordinator Joe Throneberry said: “These types of events are important in linking employer needs with university resources to meet the needs of the workforce in the county. You will be given the opportunity to identify your qualifications, after which ARIZONA@WORK will go out into the field and provide funding for qualified participants to identify their career paths.
Proceeds from Bighorn Trek sponsorships and vendor fees support the MCC Foundation to fund college scholarships throughout the MCC district.
