Mohave hasn’t had much luck with Coconino lately, but that could start to change on Friday. The Thunderbirds face off against the Panthers at 4pm. Both teams enter this following a big win.
Mohave barely beat Mingus the last time he played, but this time it wasn’t. The Thunderbirds passed Marauders 21-11 on Thursday. This victory brought back successive victories for the Thunderbirds.

Mohave got a massive performance from Jahnezz Jones. Jahnezz Jones went 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBIs and one double. These four RBIs gave Jones a new career best. Another player that makes the difference was Allison Portillo, who went 4-4 with three runs and four RBIs.
Mohave scored hits left and right and finished the game that posted a batting average of .455. They are perfect 7-0 when they post batting averages of 0.375 or more.
Meanwhile, Coconino has already won 12 straight times (stretching outperforming his opponents by an average of 8.3 runs), and they moved forward, reaching 13 on Monday. Everything went their way against the Padres as they left with a 19-2 victory.
Kaitlyn Tso played all five innings for Mound, and it’s clear why. She surrendered two runs (both unearned) with four hits, earning 9 ks. She was consistent for a while. She has not given up on more than two walks in her 20 consecutive appearances.
On the hit side, Miapozar was incredible, making it a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBIs and one double. Ariana Dominguez also deserves some recognition as she hit the first triple of the season.
Coconino pushed the record to 18-4 with a victory. The victory on these roads was thanks to their pitching efforts, and on average they only surrendered 0.9 runs in those games. As for Mohave, they now have an 8-7 victory record.
Friday’s game will be a test for pitchers from both teams. Mohave has been in touch this season and has averaged 0.355 batting average. But that’s not like Coconino’s struggle in that division, as they averaged .391. Both teams are extremely capable at the plate, so fans need to be ready for an impressive hit performance.
Mohave may still be hurt after an 8-0 defeat he got from Coconino at last Monday’s meeting. Can the Thunderbirds revenge their losses, or is history destined to repeat itself? You’ll understand immediately.
