A Mojave Valley man was arrested last month on child pornography-related charges, but details of possible felony proceedings remained unclear as of this week.
The investigation into the case began in September after Mohave County Sheriff's detectives received a cyber tip from the Arizona Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Investigators believe 42-year-old Aaron L. Perlin's personal email address contained media depicting child sexual abuse.
Detectives contacted Perlin at his workplace in Lake Havasu City on November 30th and questioned him regarding the alleged crime. As of Wednesday, sheriff's officials had not provided any insight into what Perlin may or may not have said to investigators during the interrogation. Perlin was eventually taken into custody and search warrants were executed at multiple locations associated with Perlin.
Sheriff's officials said evidence may have been seized during those searches this week, but the department did not provide details as of Wednesday about what that evidence may have contained. Not made clear.
There has been no movement in Parlin's criminal proceedings since the case began Nov. 30 in Lake Havasu Justice Court, according to court records.
Mohave County Deputy Prosecutor Amanda Clairhout, who took over the case earlier this month, could not be reached for comment on Perlin's pending criminal proceedings as of Wednesday afternoon.
Mohave County Jail records show Perlin was not in custody as of this week.
