This month, Kamala Harris emerged from her vice presidential den to address the media.
Her blitz included interviews on The View, CBS’s 60 Minutes, Howard Stern, and the sex podcast “Call Her Daddy.” (Yes, really.)
For Republicans, the vice president’s performance came as no surprise. she stumbled. She pursed her lips. She avoided specifics, dodged questions and stuck to the point more than Lycra in a pantsuit. In other words, it was the usual Kamala Pablum, plus or minus a hug from Oprah. (Related: After weeks of hiding from the media, Kamala finally came out of the cave, voters responded)
But Democrats seem genuinely surprised by the lackluster performance. new york times I lamented Her “verbal acrobatics” and “verbal jiu-jitsu.” CNN took notes Veep was particular about “friendlier interviewers with targeted audiences.”
Did they not pay attention during these two and a half months? Maybe they’re getting too caught up in Kamala’s brat summer mood.
The left’s collective shock seemed like a flashback to the first and only Biden vs. Trump debate of 2024. Wait, is the president incoherent? But he was so sharp!
Harris is the one who is incoherent except now.
And it is on matters of national security where she is most dangerously incompetent.
When asked by CBS’s Bill Whitaker why Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu didn’t listen to the US, he replied: Harris answered“Bill, as a result of the work that we have done, many movements by Israel in the region have arisen, prompted by or as a result of many things, including our advocacy for what should happen in the region. Ta. “
Huh?
When Whitaker asked her to name America’s “biggest enemy,” Harris blanked on China. And I blurted it out: “I think Iran is clearly in mind.”
Howard Stern asked Veep about Ukraine. she vague answer: “I grew up in a neighborhood where, based on principles we all agree on, some would say you would be a blowout if you supported someone against you over your friends.” Stupidity aside. Harris omitted the part about her rough “neighborhoods” being Berkeley and Quebec.
But Harris’ biggest disaster, of all media outlets, occurred on The View. She was asked, “Have you done anything different than President Biden over the past four years?”
Hindenburg’s expression changed at her answer. Like sweet landing: “I have no recollection of… and I have participated in… most of the decisions that have affected….”
America’s humiliating defeat in Afghanistan was not on her mind. Deterrence failures in Ukraine escaped her attention. The Middle East flare-up went unnoticed by Veep’s gray matter. The sinking of Gaza’s “humanitarian aid” pier, Chinese spy balloons, double-digit inflation, and the federal government’s lack of response to Hurricane Helen – Kamala Harris would not have done anything differently. This month, America met a dumber, younger Joe 2.0.
Her answer appears to have shocked even the most staunch Democrats. “This is what I think [the Harris campaign] It’s a mess…I’m getting more and more angry about it,” says longtime Democratic strategist James Carville. said on Thursday.
With just over three weeks left, the Vice President’s Ward salad, Nothing Burger, and Pie in the Sky’s fluffy Kaiseki meal seem to be causing the heartburn in my left side.
