When you’re a mayor, you tend to look at your community from a different angle. Decisions about schools, safety, and development directly affect the everyday lives of families and neighbors.
That’s why I want to express my support for Mayor Frank Brokert.
If you run through Hoover today, you’ll sense the progress. Families thrive here; schools are doing well, neighborhoods are safe, and businesses are investing. This didn’t happen by accident—it’s the result of thoughtful leadership.
Hoover has become a model for Alabama over the years. Whether it’s being recognized by US News & World Report or receiving top ratings for schools, its achievements are evident. At the core of this growth is Mayor Frank Brokert.
One thing I truly admire about Frank is that his leadership is recognized well beyond Hoover. Other mayors in our state understand how tough this job is, how much responsibility comes with it, and the courage it takes to make tough decisions.
We’ve seen firsthand how Frank effectively collaborates. Our efforts, including the Jefferson County Mayors Association (JCMA) Non-Poaching Agreement and the Mountain Coalition against Drugs, showcase this.
Look at the support Frank has from other leaders, like Mayor Sandy Stimpson of Mobile and Mayor Walt Maddox of Tuscaloosa. They may not reside in Hoover, but their focus isn’t on personal agendas concerning city affairs.
They recognize real work and tangible results. They know what true leadership looks like, and they see it in Frank—that’s a big deal.
It’s also evident that Frank prioritizes education beyond mere rhetoric. While many candidates support schools during election season, Frank doesn’t just talk; he takes action.
He boosted Hoover’s school funding to $9 million annually, enhanced alliances with principals and teachers, and made sure parents could trust the schools by employing full-time police in every building. He also engages with parents and celebrates student achievements—not just campaign promises but real actions.
Frank brings a valuable perspective on public safety. With 40 years of experience from the Hoover Fire Department and as a past leader of the Alabama Incident Management Team, he knows how to navigate crises, from severe weather to major events.
He understands what it takes to protect the community, and he proves that he can do it.
What stands out to me most about Frank is his integrity and dedication to Hoover. His family has called this city home for four generations. He embodies what it means to serve the community, driven not by ambition but by a desire to improve the city for future generations.
There’s a clear difference between talking and taking action. Campaign rhetoric often fades after elections, while genuine service creates lasting impact. Hoover exemplifies what occurs when leadership focuses on service rather than sound bites.
This is why Frank Brokert commands respect from Alabama leaders, including my own.
On August 26th, I encourage you to vote for Mayor Frank Brokert—not just for what he promises, but for what he has already accomplished and the positive momentum he continues to generate for Hoover’s future.
