SAFFORD —Mount Graham Golf Club is ranked one of the top 20 golf courses in Arizona.
according to it NBC Golf Path Online.
Mount Graham Golf Club was ranked #17 on the Golfers’ Choice 2023 list.
Fred Birkin, president of the Mount Graham Golf Association, said he was thrilled with the news.
“We’re holding hands and making it a very cozy place,” Birkin said. “It reflects our commitment to the community…we’re always trying to improve it.”
Golfers consistently rate the value, layout and comfort of the Mt. Graham Golf Club highly, with the course receiving five stars from golfers for its friendliness and pace of play. Rankings other than 4+ stars were only for criteria, averaging 3.8 stars.
Birkin said club manager Dominic Curran should be given credit for his work at the club.Safford City Councilor Arnold Lopez agreed.
“It’s really cool to get this kind of recognition. It’s something we should point out in our community,” Lopez said. “So please let everyone know and come see us. When you’re here to dine at our store, don’t forget to play golf. Don’t forget to look through your telescope.” Please.”
Mt. Graham is an 18-hole, 6,354-yard course that opened in 1974. The course is owned by the City of Safford and is supervised in partnership with the Town of Thatcher and managed by Troon Golf and Club Management.
