PHOENIX — Multiple fires in southern Arizona’s Cochise County forced evacuations and road closures on Thursday, officials said.
Wildhorse fire breaks out near Hereford Around 1 p.m., according to the Arizona Forestry Department.
The area south of Three Canyons east of Highway 92 to Deer Ridge, Wildhorse Area and Andalusian Way Area was immediately given “GO” status and evacuated.

Highway 92 was closed from Ramsay Canyon to Palominas Road and closed to traffic at Hereford Road.
All evacuations and lockdowns were lifted by Friday morning.
The fire burned at least 750 acres and was 5% extinguished by Friday morning.
American Red Cross shelters were opened at Buena High School at 5225 Buena School Blvd. and Village Meadows Baptist Church at 1407 S. El Camino Real.

The Grindstone Gorge and Highway 90 areas were given “GO” status around 3:30pm and the evacuation was lifted around 6:00pm.
The highway was closed in both directions from Interstate 10 to State Route 82, but one lane reopened in both directions on Friday morning. According to ADOT.
Kerchner Caverns Provincial Park It was also closed on Thursday, but reopened on Friday.
As of the last update, the fire had expanded to 1,200 acres.
