Devout parents in Montgomery County, Maryland, are rallying against new school rules that require children to be taught LGBTQ content.
Montgomery County Public Schools told parents on March 23 that it would no longer notify parents about curriculum dealing with gender identity and sexuality. The district has previously released a list of LGBTQ-friendly books, including “Pride Puppies,” a book about families celebrating pride, and “Uncle Bobby’s Wedding,” a book about same-sex marriage. “My child is going to read ‘My Rainbow’ next year.” [in second grade]’, one parent told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “This is a book about a transgender child. I wonder if I don’t learn about , suicide, and addiction.
On Tuesday, Muslim and Christian parents united outside school boards to demand schools rescind policies that do not allow parents to drop their children from certain curricula. Parents said the board had previously told them they would allow their children to stay away from certain courses. WUSA9 Report.

“If animal rights activists want their kids out of biology classes, they can,” one parent told WUSA 9. If you don’t want to attend a class where Native Americans talk about the great traits of Christopher Columbus, you can. “
The parents previously staged a demonstration against the policy on June 7, hosted by Mamas for Family Rights and Freedom for Religious Freedom.
Parents have filed lawsuits against the school district over the policy, claiming that “the county violated the Constitution, Maryland law, and its own policies.”
Montgomery County Public Schools reported a 582% increase in students identifying as gender non-conforming in the past two years. Data were collected from: form School counselors completed when students asked to discuss their gender identity.
Clinical experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation that curricula containing “important gender theories” and graphic sexual content in schools, in addition to hiding such content from parents, This is consistent with the tactics used by child predators to groom children.
