YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – Northern Arizona University (NAU) Yuma now offers a Logistics and Supply Chain Management certification program.
This will allow students to take advantage of the growing number of new semiconductor investments in Arizona.
Since 2020, Arizona has received more semiconductor investment than any other U.S. state, according to the New York Times.
“What we have done in our business units is focus on the logistics and associated supply chain support that these industries need to function well,” said Alex Steenstra.
According to NAU-Yuma, the certificate will help meet Yuma's growing talent needs in logistics and supply chain businesses.
This is an 18-credit course that can be completed in as little as 6 to 7 months.
“These are advanced certificates and once you complete them, you will be ready for the job market. That is why we are working with our stakeholders to update the content of these certificates and make them more relevant. We’ve been working on making it what it is,” Steenstra said.
NAU Yuma also plans to have high school students participate next fall through the Yuma State Technical School District.
“Middle school students who begin this logistics and supply chain management certificate will have completed this certificate as well by the time they graduate high school,” Steenstra said.
Tuition for the certificate is fully covered for new undergraduate residents of Arizona with household incomes of $65,000 or less, or for certain members of Arizona's 22 federally recognized tribes.
However, you must also take in-person classes.
