Please tell me that no one fell for this…
The NBA has another issue to address after an embarrassing security breaches when the league’s official Twitter account was taken over by hackers on Tuesday.
At first glance, it appeared to be in pure despair mode after posting the league’s Twitter announcement that the NBA had launched a crypto asset called “$nba Coin.” (Related: “She’s Really Bad”: Cavaliers ‘Ty Jerome was slammed with a $25,000 fine for absolute rage at a woman’s judgement)
As Tuesday afternoon rolled, the NBA confirmed that cryptocurrency scam was just that… scam. And of course, it was done by hackers who compromised multiple global NBA social media accounts. Included from the UK and Spain.

It was removed and the league wasn’t that long after the fact.

An NBA spokesman confirms that the X account has been hacked. The league has not launched crypto coins.
