Need a break from the Valley heat? See the fall foliage at Arizona Snowbowl!

Flagstaff, Arizona (AZ Family) — While the Valley is experiencing unprecedented heat, people living in Arizona’s highlands are feeling the onset of fall, bringing colorful leaves and cooler nights.

It’s only a matter of time before we get enough snow to officially start the winter season at the Arizona Snowbowl. If you can believe it, the ski resort reported that first snow of the season last month!

Until Sunday, October 20th, visitors can take a scenic gondola ride to admire the fall foliage and participate in a variety of family-friendly activities.

Sunset rides will be available on Fridays and Saturdays, allowing visitors to experience the golden hour in a whole new light.

“Once you reach an altitude of 11,500 feet; Snowbowl Arizona Gondola “We offer Flagstaff’s best views and fall photo opportunities, with sweeping views of San Francisco’s volcanic fields, cinder cones, Sedona’s red rocks and the Grand Canyon,” the resort said.

If a strong cold front passes through the area, the San Francisco Mountains can see snow in September, while Flagstaff often sees its first snow in November.

The ski season is scheduled to start on November 22nd. Lift tickets are also on sale.
