Netflix Is Trying To Do Their Version Of ‘The Chosen’ And It Looks A Bit Intense

Netflix released a trailer for “Testament: The Story of Moses” on Wednesday, and it looks like a super-intense, crappy version of something like “The Chosen One,” except it focuses on Moses. It looks like

The documentary explores the life of Moses, “from his exile as an outcast and murderer to his eventual rise to prophecy and deliverer,” Netflix says I have written Upcoming 3-part series. It seems that Netflix and the team behind the series think they can tell us more about Moses and his life than “the conventional wisdom created in history classrooms.” I really don't know where to start to unpack that claim. So I'll leave it up to you to decide how you feel about it.

“For those who have seen [‘The Ten Commandments’] Because kids were very aware of the grander elements of the story,” the series' producer told Netflix. “The burning bush, the plague, Passover, the Red Sea, and of course the Ten Commandments. What really drew us in was the mystery of Moses' inner life, his struggle with his own identity, his self-doubt, his humanity.”

Oh, does this mean they're going to wake up Moses? No, no.

Netflix even compared the series to “Queen Cleopatra” and “Alexander: The Making of a God,” both of which were so bad you'd probably throw your TV out the window while watching them. (Related: Netflix is looking to produce a 'Yellowstone' show. Here's what we know)

Telling the story of Moses feels like a cheap shot of “The Chosen One,” perhaps one of the most successful television series in history, depicting the earthly life of Jesus Christ. Unlike the very good “The Chosen One,” “Testament: The Story of Moses” seems like intense garbage, but that's just my opinion.

You can check. series Netflix says it'll be released on March 27th, unless there's literally something else to do with your time.
