New York Male Model Stabbed While Defending Women From Attack in Germany

New York Model Stabbed While Protecting Women in Germany

A 21-year-old male model from New York, John Rudat, was stabbed on Sunday. Reports indicate that he sustained a knife injury to his face when he intervened in an assault. Organized by his brother’s girlfriend, a GoFundMe campaign highlights that Rudat, who works as a paramedic and part-time model, now has “deep facial scars” from the incident while trying to protect the women involved.

The GoFundMe described the attack as “brutal,” noting that Rudat had recently finished emergency medical training and had served as an EMT for about a year and a half. According to law enforcement, the two women were attacked by two Syrian citizens, prompting Rudat’s intervention.

He reportedly suffered significant injuries from trying to defend them, including deep facial wounds caused by a six-inch blade, necessitating urgent surgery in Germany. The fundraiser included a graphic image showing what appeared to be blood on the tram floor from the incident.

Later, Rudat shared details about the attack on Instagram, clarifying that the assailant was not a German citizen but an “immigrant” known to local authorities. He expressed his bewilderment about the legal system, questioning how such actions could occur without immediate justice. “If they could do this to the German people, and they would only be released in 12 hours—or even less—where is the law?” he asked.

The U.S. embassy in Germany condemned the attack through a statement on X, calling for swift and thorough justice against the perpetrators. The embassy expressed deep concern over the violent assault on an American citizen who was heroically trying to protect others.

At the time of the attack, Rudat was visiting family he had previously stayed with in Germany. As of now, the fundraising effort has garnered over $32,000 for his recovery.
