News Flash • Coconino County Attorney Recognized as 2024 Dis

The National District Attorneys Association (NDAA) recently recognized Coconino County Attorney Bill Ring as the recipient of its 2024 Prosecutor of the Year award.

The Best Prosecutor Award is presented annually by the NDAA, the oldest and largest professional organization representing criminal prosecutors nationwide. Mr. Ring was selected from among 22 other candidates from prosecutorial agencies across the country. This honor is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, integrity, and excellence in the field of prosecution.

“I am extremely honored to receive this award,” said Ring. “This recognition not only reflects my personal commitment to justice, but also highlights the collaborative efforts of my colleagues and community. We strive to make a big difference in people’s lives.”

The Ring County Attorney's legal career spans 35 years. He began his career in the civil and criminal divisions of the Coconino County Prosecutor's Office and went into independent practice in 2001. Ring said he returned to the Coconino County Prosecutor's Office in 2012 and served as a senior civil prosecutor. He was elected Coconino County Attorney in 2016.

During his time as Coconino County Attorney, Ring has served in various leadership positions at the local, state, and national levels. He currently serves on the NDAA Board of Directors and as an American Bar Association representative on behalf of the NDAA. He also chairs the Arizona Prosecuting Attorney Advisory Council, which provides training and resources to hundreds of prosecutors across Arizona. The Ring County Attorney is also a frequent lecturer at the NDAA and Arizona State Bar, where he teaches attorneys about ethical responsibilities.
