News Flash • Phase Two of the Lake Mary Road Mill & Fill Pro

Coconino County contractors are preparing to break ground on the second phase of a project to improve travel lanes and shoulders along Lake Mary Road.

$1.7 million Lake Mary Road Mill and Fill Project: Phase 2 includes milling of existing pavement and subsequent 1.5-inch milling along travel lanes and shoulders on two sections of Lake Mary Road (approximately 3.6 miles total) Includes installation of polymer-modified asphalt concrete.

The first section of the project runs from approximately milepost (MP) 332 south to MP 329. This section also includes resurfacing the acceleration lanes from the Upper Lake Mary boat launch and picnic area. The second section runs from approximately MP 323 to MP 322. Both sections are then restriped.

C & E Paving and Grading will be working during the day on weekdays, but weekend work is also possible. Traffic restrictions will be in place to guide vehicles within the construction zone.

Motorists should expect delays and plan their travel accordingly, and are encouraged to use extra caution and obey posted speed limits throughout the construction zone. Recreators should be aware that the shoulder of the project section will be closed during construction.

The project is scheduled to be completed in April. However, this schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen factors.

The first phase of the $1.95 million project will replace existing pavement in travel lanes along a 10.4-mile stretch of Lake Mary Road from the Flagstaff city limits south to MP 332. , which was substantially completed last fall.
