Newsmax Host Seeks Out Man Who Is Accused of Taking Photos of 12-Year-Old Daughter at the Beach

Man Confronted for Photographing Girl on Beach

Carl Higbie from NewsMax encountered a Connecticut man accused of taking a photo of his 12-year-old daughter at the beach, as shown in a video that surfaced recently.

The incident reportedly occurred at Todd Point Beach on Tuesday afternoon, where the man was behaving suspiciously and was seen filming at least one minor. Kaitlyn, Higbie’s ex-wife, explained that she was at the beach with her current husband, their two sons, a friend, and their daughter when the incident took place.

Interestingly, Higbie wasn’t present during the event. Kaitlyn shared that the kids were playing in the sand when they noticed the man. She snapped a picture of him, feeling it was odd due to the background being “a brick wall” instead of the ocean.

“It wasn’t like he was shooting over the water or something. It was just this wall,” Kaitlyn remarked.

Initially, she didn’t address the man directly. However, she mentioned that he gestured towards her husband while walking along the beach. As the man passed by Higby’s daughter and her friend, he reportedly pulled out his phone and appeared to take a photo.

Caitlyn confronted the man while her husband asked her to take a closer look at his phone. Things quickly escalated, leading her to call a nearby lifeguard for assistance.

The man allegedly refused to show his phone and suggested that if he deleted the photo, they could avoid calling the police. After rejecting his proposal, Caitlyn and her husband followed him to his car. Video evidence shows him accessing a recently deleted folder and permanently removing a photo.

The footage showed him selecting at least nine pictures that seemed to include kids on the beach.

Police arrived later on the scene. Caitlyn recounted that officials informed her it wasn’t illegal to take pictures in public spaces.

The Greenwich Police Department later confirmed via a Facebook statement that an adult had been observed photographing a young girl at the beach. Upon being approached, the man left the area.

Higbie subsequently confronted the man outside his home in a video shared by DCNF. The man claimed that Higbie didn’t have permission to record him and insisted it was clear he was on the road before questioning why he’d photographed Higby’s daughter.

“I take photos while walking, but those kids were everywhere,” the man explained, adding, “If I accidentally caught my daughter, I’m sorry. I didn’t enjoy being chased by a car, but I wasn’t taking any photos.”

The investigation is ongoing, and currently, no charges have been filed against the individual.

The Greenwich Police Department has yet to respond to requests for further comments.
