Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich warns Americans are at a “crossroads” between civilization and collapse, he said Wednesday, explaining what will be a key focus for voters in 2024.
Mr. Gingrich appeared on “Hannity” to discuss the upcoming issues that voters will pay most attention to as they head to the polls in 2024. Fox host Sean Hannity asked the former House speaker what issues would “define” a campaign, emphasizing “law and order.” He showed a recent video of a man who appears to tackle a Nevada court judge after being denied probation.
Gingrich said “law and order” will be valued “in many different ways,” highlighting Democratic failures on both the southern border crisis and “green corruption.”
“Well, I think law and order is going to be one of them in many ways. First of all, Biden is not enforcing the law at the border. So that totally begs the question, are they just following the law?” He took an oath to follow the law. He has not followed the law,” Gingrich said.
“I think you have green rot. It's going to turn out that billions of dollars have been stolen, and a lot of it was stolen by people who donated to the Democratic Party. Frankly speaking, Congress is in control. You'll see that in Washington, D.C., there were 975 carjackings. 975 people in one year.”
Gingrich said that after Nevada Judge Mary Kay Holthus denied him a suspended sentence for assault with great bodily harm, a video of inmate Deron Redden appearing to tackle her went viral. He continued to criticize. The former House speaker also referenced recent unrest on college campuses over anti-Israel protests, saying people need to “get this country back on the path to law and order.” (Related: Americans' finances will take a hit in 2023 amid persistent inflation and high interest rates)
“The man who appeared on TV earlier has already been indicted in two states, has a history of violent behavior, and frankly should not be on the streets. Alas, we are now at the crossroads of civilization and collapse. It's going to take generations to recover from this, if it ever happens,” Gingrich said.
“We saw some of it at our universities, where we had people who openly said they supported terrorism and supported genocide. Those of us who believe in civilization stood up and brought this country back to law and order, real Opportunities, people to be safe and, frankly, to pursue happiness without being mugged, mugged, or carjacked by someone. These are all real issues.”
While President Biden's approval rating is declining, forever The bar is low, and voters are expressing deep disappointment with the current president's economy.
