NFL Hall of Famer Tony Dungy publicly questioned Vice President Kamala Harris on Thursday after she spoke out about abortion rights.
“You don't have to abandon your faith or deeply held beliefs to agree with this — the government, and certainly Donald Trump, should not be telling women what to do with their bodies,” Harris posted Thursday.
You don't have to abandon your faith or deeply held beliefs to agree with this: the government, and certainly Donald Trump, should not be telling women what to do with their bodies.

Dungy, who led the Indianapolis Colts to a Super Bowl victory and became the first Black head coach inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, responded with a pointed question.
“What 'faith' are you talking about when you say you don't have to abandon your faith to support abortion?” Dungy Written In a tweet on Thursday, Harris cited the Bible and pointed to Christian teachings about the sanctity of life, asking whether her message was in line with those beliefs or spoke to more general faith ideas.
Dear Vice President Harris: You make this statement all the time. When you say that one does not have to abandon one's faith to support abortion, what “faith” are you referring to? Harris remains committed to restoring protections similar to those once provided by Roe v. Wade. Dungey's response is part of a broader debate among public figures about faith and abortion. Dungy also retweeted former NFL player Benjamin Watson's response to another post by Harris discussing the tragic death of a woman in Georgia after Roe v. Wade was overturned. Watson argued that the incident was the result of medical malpractice, not Georgia's pro-life laws, and accused Harris of spreading “politically motivated falsehoods.”
