The New York Islanders haven't gotten off to a great start this season. A few people were making noise about it, but it wasn't really talked about in the sports world…until now, it was the Islanders who shocked the public. Saturday was hell for everyone in the head coaching position.

After the Islanders made back-to-back Eastern Conference Finals appearances (2020 and 2021), they are one win away from the 2021 Stanley Cup Final, and high expectations have been placed on the Islanders ever since. However, things did not go as planned.

Roy is an absolute legend as a goaltender, and perhaps the greatest player of all time, with a career record of 551 wins, 315 losses, and 131 losses, the most wins in league history (at the time), and won two championships with the Montreal Canadiens. He also won two rings. Colorado Avalanche.
An 11-time All-Star and Hall of Famer, he won the Vezina Trophy (NHL's Best Goaltender) three times and the Conn Smythe Trophy (Stanley Cup Playoffs MVP) three times.
Roy's previous coaching experience was with the Colorado Avalanche from 2013 to 2016, where he had an overall record of 130-92-24. In the 2013-14 season, his first campaign as a head coach, he won the NHL Coach of the Year Award.
