Nike’s New Ad Post Scotty Scheffler’s Win
This past spring, Nike teamed up with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney to promote sports bras. Fast forward to 2025, and the brand completely revamped its advertising strategy, producing one of the most memorable sports ads seen in years.
At that time, Mulvaney was at the center of a major backlash against Bud Light that severely impacted its sales. Perhaps curiously, Nike chose to collaborate with Mulvaney to steer clear of similar conservative backlashes.
Since then, Nike has taken important lessons to heart. Instead of relying on sheer luck, the company seems to have leaned on clever advertising strategies to avoid pitfalls, much like those faced by Bud Light.
Following golfer Scotty Scheffler’s fourth major championship win at the recent Open Championship, Nike debuted a touching advertisement featuring him and his son, captioned “You’ve already won.”
The priority has not been changed. Another major security.

This ad evokes a sense of nostalgia reminiscent of the character Don Draper from *Mad Men*. It embodies uplifting themes, tapping into feelings of warmth regardless of what you’re doing.
The advertisement focuses on family values, the significance of fatherhood, and the joy of raising children while also highlighting the essence of what it means to be a professional golfer. Scotty emphasizes that his family comes first.
“I’m blessed to be able to get out here and play golf, but if my golf started to affect my family life or my relationship with my wife and son, it’s going to be the last day I’ll make a living here,” he mentioned before the tournament.
Perhaps this perspective is why he excelled. He doesn’t seem overly concerned about being the top golfer; his focus is on being the best husband and father. In his eyes, he’s already won.
Those heartfelt sentiments resonate well, and Nike has beautifully captured those emotions in this latest campaign.
