A bill passing the state legislature could allocate more than $300 million to the maintenance of Arizona’s rural roads and highways.
If passed, more than $100 million of that money would be distributed across the state for dozens of road improvement projects.
So far, the bill has received widespread support in the state Capitol. Under the auspices of Rep. Tim Dunn (R-Yuma), HB2543 passed the state legislature in his third reading on Wednesday. Eight of those votes came bipartisanly from all members of his four legislative districts in Northern Arizona.
