GRAHAM COUNTY – The aurora borealis, also known as the Northern Lights, was visible in Graham County Friday night and could appear again Saturday and Sunday night.
Increased solar activity and massive coronal ejections from the sun have generated a geomagnetic storm that produces auroras and began battering Earth on Friday night, potentially causing communications disruptions.
The best time to see the Northern Lights is between 10pm and 2am while looking towards the North Pole. The lights that appear in the sky are pink, purple or orange in colour.
