Florida Republican Rep. Kat Cammack planned to stand up to an activist judge while appearing on Fox Business on Thursday.
Biden-appointed Judge Ana Reyes on Tuesday prevented President Donald Trump’s executive order from banning transgender individuals from serving the US military and stopping enforcement waiting for the final ruling. When he appeared in “Editing the Evening,” Cammack said that Congress’s actions were necessary, adding that despite establishing a lower court, which was portrayed in Article 2 of the Constitution, the legislative body ignores its obligation to oversee the judiciary.
“We abdicated our powers despite Article 2 clearly portraying it in the Supreme Court of Justice. But in reality it was Congress that established the lower courts, lower courts and everything about them,” Kamack said. “So we have an obligation to monitor. We returned to the last time we took action in 1911, so we need to step up as members of Congress and make sure there are no judges of these activists who are taking over and promoting the political agenda.”

Cammack then discussed restrictions from the Executive (Reins) Act, which needed scrutiny.
“This is why we need the rein law. The rein law is the biggest, the worst swamp and supports people’s bills, and we need to pass this to the finish line.
Cammack It was introduced The Reins Act took action in 2023 to strengthen Congressional oversight and curb executive leadership in federal rulemaking. The bill requires both the House and Senate to approve new “major rules” from federal agencies prior to implementation, allowing Congress to reject “non-compulsory rules” via joint resolutions.
Kamac also criticized activist judges and surrounded the situation as a misuse of jurisdiction for partisan purposes. (Related: Megyn Kelly says you think you are a woman when a man is “the bridge is too far.”
“Everything we see is law, and you heard spokesperson Levitt laid it out. Over 60% of the injunctions are opposed to President Trump, of which more than 90 are from Democrat-appointed judges,” Kammack said. “This is pure and simple law, and just because you don’t like the outcome of an election doesn’t mean you can use your power to abuse it for political purposes.”
In a ruling Tuesday evening, Reyes reverted the Trump administration’s ban on transgender individuals serving in the military, referring to a quote from the Broadway musical Hamilton, claiming that “all people are being created equal.” Reyes chose this contemporary adaptation to traditional phrases from the Declaration of Independence, highlighting inclusion.
Reyes criticized the administration’s policies as speculation and biased, blocking its implementation. In response, Defense Secretary Pete Hegses defended the policy and said eliminating left-wing social engineering from the military is essential to focusing on combat readiness.
