O.J. Simpson’s Remains Have Been Turned Into Jewelry

O.J. Simpson's ashes are being placed in jewelry for his children to wear, his lawyer says.

Malcolm Lavergne, Simpon's longtime lawyer and estate administrator, said the former soccer star's remains were placed in an assortment of cremation jewelry and divided among his four adult children. TMZLaverne said all of Simpson's children signed a petition in support of having their father's ashes made into wearable jewelry after his death.

According to TMZ, Laverne also signed the document confirming her consent to the procedure.

Simpson passed away from cancer in April at age 76 and was cremated. His children, Arnelle, Jason, Sydney and Justin, were given special jewelry to ensure they always had a piece of their dad with them. Lavergne didn't reveal the exact type of jewelry made for each of them, but according to TMZ, the standard option is a bracelet or pendant necklace that contains a miniature urn or container where they can store their father's ashes.

According to TMZ, Lavergne said she turned down the opportunity to own some of those gems because she simply wasn't interested in the experience.

Lavergne is now trying to sell Simpson's assets to settle debts left behind by the late actor, including tens of millions of dollars owed to the Goldman family. Simpson was acquitted of the murders of Ron Goldman and his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, in 1995 but was later ordered to pay $33 million in restitution in a civil court case, Lavergne said.
