Longtime Hartsell resident Valla Lee Hodges Roberts, from Limestone County, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at the age of 86. She was a Christian, a homemaker, and a member of Westview Christ Church. Her funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at the Peck Funeral Home Chapel and will be officiated by Bill Hall and Lance Blackburn. Burial was held at Hartsell City Cemetery. Valla Lee was born on July 8, 1937 in Limestone County, Alabama. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jimmy W. Roberts, and Hartsell’s daughter, Cindy Davidson (Dan). Sons, Jim Roberts of Hartsell. Somerville’s Kirk Roberts (Jamie). Hartsell’s Chris Roberts (Devra). Sisters, Clara Brooks of Athens and Wanda Gilbert (Wade) of Athens. Grandchildren Emily Woodard (Brandon), Drew Davidson, Chase Pernatozzi, Judson Roberts, Addie David (Josh), Eva Roberts. Five great-grandchildren, Cadence Woodard, Landon Woodard, Brooklyn Woodard, McKenna David, and Everett David. A daughter named Jamie Lee Roberts died before her. Her family would like to thank the Westview Church family and the Hospice of the Valley. If you would like to donate, please donate to Hospice of the Valley instead of flowers.

Morgan Hospital. He was born on June 15, 1965 in Cochise County, Arizona. To

Prior to his death, he contributed to the fast food industry as general manager.his
parents died earlier. Survivors include Decatur’s wife, Doris Locke.

Lula Fowler, 83, funeral will be held at 1:00 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2023

Funeral director. Burial was held at the historic Somerville Cemetery. Mrs. Fowler died at her home on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. She was born on February 8, 1940 in Dallas County to Curtis Lee and Rosa Lee Kizia. She was a homemaker and a wonderful wife and mother for her family. Mrs. Fowler loved arts and crafts, singing, gardening, and flowers, but she was a mighty prayer warrior and loved the Lord. She dearly loved her children and her grandchildren. She died before her parents. Among her survivors is her daughter Ruth Fowler (Bradley Scaricky). Son Donald Fowler. Six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The ball bearers are Rickie Fowler, Mark Smith, Austin Fowler, Brad Skulicky, Thomas Ray Keller and Sandy Smith.

A visit was scheduled. Mrs. Dutton died at her home on Thursday, July 13, 2023. She was born on January 20, 1953 in Tennessee to Roy Fletcher Farmer.
Margaret Louise Bailey Farmer.
She was employed by the Alabama Cooperative Extension Office as a 4-H,
Office coordinator before retirement. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church and was her beloved mother and grandmother. Her parents died before her.
Her family would like to say “thank you” to Friendship Baptist Church.
All the love and support given to the family.
Survivors include her husband, Barry Keith Dutton. her son Daniel K. Dutton; her daughter Jennifer Pritchett (Robert); Brother of Dennis Farmer (Lois Ann) and Duane Farmer (Sharon). Sisters Linda Buckner (Randy) and Susan Arnold (Ricky). her grandchildren Dallas Dutton, Levi Dutton and Juliana Pritchett. Her coffin bearers include Robert Pritchett, Michael Buckner and Brad Buckner.

Mabello Cook Turner

Mabello Cook-Turner, 83, was buried with Bro at 12:00 pm on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at Harmony Grove Church. He is Roger White’s brother. Eric Dobbs will host and oversee the Peck Funeral Home. Her burial will be held at Johnson Chapel. Mrs. Turner died at her home on Thursday, July 13, 2023. She was born on February 13, 1940 in Morgan County to William Elbert Bell and Lena Estelle Hall Bell. Mrs. Turner was a member of Her Grove Church of Harmony, loved her family dearly, and enjoyed Southern gospel music. She was a factory worker before her retirement.

Her husband, Eloy Turner, died before her. She has brothers, Bubby Bell, Melvin Gaines, O’Neal Gaines and sisters, Louise Shaneyfeldt, Floraetta Kelly and her parents.

Survivors also include his son Barry Cook (Lisa). daughter, Marsha Hart (Gene); stepson, Ricky Cook; Stepdaughter, Delane Gunn, Deloris Standridge (Larry), Donna Taichimiller, Diane Durcham. Older brother, Randy Gaines (Lisa). Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.

The coffin bearers are Caleb Cook, Trenton Hart, Dalton Hart, Jean Hart, Randy Gaines and Kenta Blackins. Honorary coffin-bearers will be Stephen Hart and Kanan Cook.
