Office Depot Fires Worker Who Reportedly Refused To Print Poster For Charlie Kirk Vigil

Office Depot Employee Fired for Refusing to Print Poster

Office Depot terminated an employee on Friday after they declined to print a poster for a vigil honoring Charlie Kirk, labeling it as “propaganda.”

In a statement shared on X, Office Depot expressed concern about the incident, stating that the employee’s behavior did not align with the company’s values. They emphasized that such actions were not acceptable.

“We are deeply troubled by the events at our Portage, Michigan location. The actions of our employees are not reflective of Office Depot’s policies or values,” the company remarked.

This statement was followed by an acknowledgement that they would reach out to affected customers to fulfill their orders and that an investigation was underway, resulting in the employee’s termination.

“Upon learning of the incident, we swiftly contacted our clients to address their concerns and fulfill their orders. An immediate internal review was also initiated, leading to the departure of the associates involved,” the company added.

They went on to assure that they’re committed to improving training for team members to uphold standards of respect, integrity, and customer service. “Our customers and community deserve nothing less,” they affirmed.

The incident occurred after the Kalamazoo County Republicans had requested a poster for a vigil that same evening. A few hours later, a printing supervisor named “Beryl” informed them that the order had not been completed.

Matthew DePerno, a lawyer and Republican activist, shared his frustration on X, noting that he was told the poster was rejected for being “propaganda.” Following the denial, he visited FedEx, where his printing request was fulfilled.
