Officials concerned about illegal immigrants arrested in Alabama child exploitation sting

Five illegal immigrants were arrested this week in a child exploitation sting. Albertville Police, working with the Marshall County Sheriff's Office and the Department of Homeland Security, arrested five men, each of whom is being held on $1 million bail.

Albertville police described the operation as “the result of months of preparation and planning,” adding, “Marshall County authorities continue to pursue those who prey on children.”

Alabama's top law enforcement official, Attorney General Steve Marshall, said federal policy has implications.

“The devastating consequences of Biden’s decision to open our borders are becoming clearer every day. Under his watch, millions of people have entered our country illegally, some of them drugged with deadly drugs. That includes countless felons and innocent children who are being trafficked. That chaos is not inevitable. It's Biden's choice. And everyone remembers that in November. There should be,” Marshall said.

U.S. Rep. Dale Strong (R-Huntsville) also criticized Biden's border policies and refusal to deport people.

“These are the results of the Biden administration's appalling open borders policy and refusal to deport people. Less than a week after a college student was brutally murdered by an illegal immigrant in Georgia, two illegal immigrants were arrested here in North Alabama. A person was arrested for child exploitation,” Strong said.

“I can tell you for a fact that stories like this are happening in almost every community in this country. As a member of the Homeland Security Committee, I have seen the evidence firsthand. “We are fully committed to addressing this national crisis,” he concluded.

U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) thanked local law enforcement and pointed to the failures of border policies in the state.

U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Sachs) believes the recent arrests of illegal immigrants in Alabama are another reason it's time to secure the U.S. southern border.

“These criminals are coming into our country and living in your backyards. Every state is a border state,” Rogers said.

U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Sachs) also commented on the recent murder of Laken Riley, who was allegedly killed by an illegal immigrant from Venezuela. Riley, a nursing student at the University of Georgia, was assaulted by Jose Ibarra while she was jogging.

“This is a person who should not have been in the country, but was allowed in because of President Biden's open borders policy,” Rogers said. “He should still be in a New York jail for injury to a child, but he was released because of Alvin Bragg's woke bail policy. Our country needs President Trump's policies. is!”

House and Senate leaders are currently trying to negotiate a deal that would secure the border while also providing aid to Ukraine during its war against Russia.
