BENSON, Arizona — The driver involved in Wednesday’s fatal crash in southern Arizona has yet to be found, officials said.
The devastating accident occurred along Highway 80 near Milepost 290, according to the company. Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.
One occupant of the wrecked vehicle was killed and two others were injured but not in life-threatening condition. The driver was not found at the time of the accident.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said Friday that the driver had not yet been found. The identity of the deceased passenger could not be determined because his next of kin had not yet been notified.
The DPS said this could be a case related to human smuggling.
Officials said the driver was a white or fair-skinned man, thin and about 6ft 0in, wearing a gray shirt and tan pants.
