O’Ketter Awarded Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week for Third Time this Season

Flagstaff, Arizona (November 18, 2024) – millie oketter was named the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this season. This is the fourth time in her career that she has won this award.

She was first awarded this honor after the Lumberjack Classic and again after the Lumberjacks achieved three straight wins, both home and away, against Southern Utah and Utah Tech.

Most recently, Northern Arizona State defeated top-three ranked Idaho State University in a thrilling five-set match. Oketter tallied 21 digs, averaging 4.2 per set.

Against Weber State, she accumulated 19 digs and averaged 6.33 digs per set.

Oketter continues to dominate the Big Sky Conference rankings with a season average of 4.83.

In the 2024 season, Oketter had a total of 415 digs, bringing his career total to 1,845. She is approaching NAU’s all-time record of 1,891 career digs held by Anna Gott (2009-12). Oketter needs 47 digs in the final two games of the regular season to take the top spot.

Northern Arizona will face Eastern Washington on Thursday, Nov. 21, and finally play against Idaho on Saturday, Nov. 23. Both games will be held at the Roll Activity Center.
