MIAMI (AP) — Victor Oladipo exercised his $9.5 million option on Tuesday to sign with the Miami Heat for next season.
he tore his left patellar tendon in the first round of the playoffs against Milwaukee in April. The 31-year-old Gard has had three major surgeries in the last four years, two on his right knee, and has no plans to return.
Oladipo was previously a two-time All-Star in Indiana. Injured in January 2019. Indiana traded him to Houston in January 2021. The Rockets traded. he went to miami 2 months later. He appeared in four games for the Heat in March 2021 before being injured again.
Oladipo appeared in just eight regular-season games in 2021-22 as he was recovering from a second surgery to repair a right quadriceps tendon. He will appear in 15 playoff games with Miami in 2022 and agreed to a two-year contract with the Heat last summer.
He appeared in 42 games for Miami this season, the most in a regular season since the 2017-18 season.
