International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach suggested at a press conference on Friday that there is no scientific way to distinguish between men and women.
Gender eligibility rules have been a point of contention at the 2024 Paris Olympics, with Italian boxer Angela Carini withdrawing just 46 seconds into her bout with Algerian boxer Imane Khelif. As a result, when asked on Friday whether the committee would review the gender-change guidelines, Bach replied that there was no concrete, scientific way to distinguish between men and women.
“I've said from the beginning that if someone were to [a] How to identify males and females with a scientifically sound system [the IOC] “It's not as simple as some in the cultural world would like to portray it. There is no XX or XY. [chromosome] There is a clear difference between men and women.”

At the moment, the key criterion for Olympic eligibility is testosterone levels, not whether one has an XX or XY chromosome pattern, NBC News reports. Reported.
Bach also suggested at a press conference on Friday that climate change could affect the timing of future Olympics. According to In Sports Illustrated (SI).
“If climate change continues as experts predict, it will be very difficult to hold the Olympics in summer, in August,” Bach said, according to SI.
The IOC president's comments came after drag queens imitated Christian symbols, including “The Last Supper,” appeared at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
