‘Omni-Loop’ Trailer Takes Renowned Movie Concept To Groundbreaking New Level

Magnolia Pictures and Magnet Releasing released the trailer for “OmniLoop” on Tuesday, taking the well-known movie concept to a whole new level.

Forget “Groundhog Day,” “50 First Dates,” or any other movie where the protagonist is trapped in an endless time loop.Omni Loop” is redefining the genre. Starring Mary-Louise Parker and Ayo Edebiri, the story follows a woman who takes a pill once a week to live the same week over and over again.

The story follows Parker as Zoya Lau, a quantum physicist who has a black hole growing inside her, finding herself trapped in the same loop over and over again, with no idea how long she's been trapped for. According to According to Deadline, this week marks what would have been her 55th birthday, as well as the week of her final breath, with the outlet calling the story a “poignant message about life and death.”

Parker remains one of the few women in entertainment who can truly lead and dominate the screen without coming across as masculine, cantankerous, or unreasonable. The project is being directed by Bernardo Britto of HBO's “Los Espooky,” and judging by the trailer, he's done a fantastic job.

“OmniLoop” will be released in theaters and digitally on September 20th.
