A tragic incident in Benson, Arizona, has resulted in one fatality after a vehicle was pulled from the water.
The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office reported that emergency crews were dispatched to a water rescue near Milepost 3 on North Okochiro Road on Friday.
Authorities indicated that they are currently on site dealing with the aftermath of the vehicle being swept away.
While two individuals were rescued, sadly, a third person lost their life in this incident. The identities of those involved have not yet been disclosed.
The situation is still under investigation.
Multiple agencies participated in the response, including the Cochise County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue, Benson Police Department, Arizona Public Safety, and Hawkeye Air Support.
Due to significant flooding and debris, North Ocotillo Road has been closed to ensure safety.
