Ousted CNN CEO Speaks Out For First Time

Former CNN CEO Chris Licht broke his silence after being kicked from the network on Wednesday.

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav told CNN staff Wednesday morning that Licht was stepping down as CEO. Licht will be replaced by former CNN executive Amy Entelis, who served alongside former CEO Jeff Zucker.

Licht spoke of his departure on Thursday.

“This is an exciting but incredibly challenging mission and I have learned a lot in the last 13 months,” Licht said in a statement. CNN work. “I’ve been lucky enough to have a successful and fulfilling career and I’m looking forward to the next chapter. I wish the CNN team all the best.”

Two of CNN’s top communications executives also left the network just hours after Licht was ousted.

CNN’s Oliver Darcy said: “I’ve heard that CNN’s two heads of communications, Chris Collatti-Kelley and Matt Dornick, and Licht’s chief of staff, Devan Kaye, are also planning to leave.” tweeted.
