Over A Quarter Of Gen Z Now Say They’re Queer: POLL

More than 25% of Americans born between 1997 and 2012 identify as LGBTQ, significantly higher than previous generations, according to a Tuesday poll from the Public Religion Research Institute.

The poll found that nearly 50% of Gen Zers are more likely to identify as liberal and less religious than Millennials, Gen Xers, and Baby Boomers.Meanwhile, 28% of Gen Z consider Only 16% of Millennials, 7% of Gen Xers, and 4% of Baby Boomers identify themselves as LGBTQ. According to the poll, Gen Z is 43% more likely to identify as “liberal,” making one in six members of the generation eligible to vote. According to the poll, 31% of respondents identified themselves as Democrats, 30% as independents, and just 21% identified themselves as Republicans.

Younger generations are also the most likely to express displeasure with older leaders in political office, with nearly 58% saying that regardless of party affiliation, “until older generations no longer hold power, “It will not solve the country's big problems.” According to public opinion polls.

The poll also found that respondents were less likely to belong to a particular faith, with 33% claiming to have no religion. Data from April 2023 shows Gen Z is the least likely of all generations to attend church services, at 38%, and even those who identify as religious are less likely than older generations to attend church services. It was revealed that they attend church less frequently.

The survey was conducted from August 21st to September 15th with 6,014 participants between the ages of 13 and 25. The margin of error for respondents ages 13 to 17 was plus or minus 1.51 percentage points, while the margin of error for respondents ages 18 to 25 was plus or minus 1.51 percentage points. -1.58%.
