Oversight Committee Publishes Subpoenaed Epstein Documents from the Department of Justice

House Oversight Committee Releases Epstein Records

On Tuesday, the House Oversight Committee made thousands of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein public. These records were acquired from the Department of Justice (DOJ).

The committee confirmed that the files were received on August 22nd. This collection includes over 33,295 pages of documents related to Epstein, as mentioned in a recent press release.

The release was prompted by House Oversight Chairman James Comer, who had previously summoned the DOJ for records regarding Epstein on August 5. The DOJ stated that it would continue to provide the requested records, while ensuring the privacy of victims and dealing with sensitive material related to child sexual abuse.

Comer noted in a statement from August 18th that the DOJ had many records under its control and that it required time to compile everything properly, while maintaining the confidentiality of victims and sensitive information.

He also expressed gratitude towards the Trump administration for its “commitment to transparency” and its endeavor to keep the public informed on this matter.

Earlier, during General William Barr’s closed testimony on August 18, Comer mentioned that the DOJ was collaborating with the committee to fulfill the subpoena and that they would handle the documents with “goodwill.”

The release of these files came right after the DOJ had announced an interview with Ghislaine Maxwell in July, with Attorney General Pam Bondi directing Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche to meet with her regarding questions about Epstein.
