Pac-12 Bringing In Four Mountain West Colleges In Attempted Rebuild: REPORT

The return of the Pac-12?!

Previous 2024In 2008, the once-proud Pac-12 Conference was completely devastated during a historic wave of conference realignment. As of September, the Pac-12 Conference is planning a rebuild and is looking to add four schools from the Mountain West Conference (MWC) in addition to Oregon State and Washington State, Action Network reporter Brett McMurphy reported.

The four teams starting in 2026 are Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State and San Diego State. (That's a lot of states.) (RELATED: Florida State prepares for rainy game against Memphis with water guns)

McMurphy also reported that the restructuring would result in the Pac-12 paying exit fees totaling $111 million to the MWC, including $43 million in total from the Pac-12 related to the scheduling agreement between the two parties.

Before the 2024 season began, the Pac-12 officially underwent a major conference realignment that resulted in the loss of an incredible 10 of its 12 schools. Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Utah moved to the Big 12, while Oregon, Washington, UCLA and USC moved to the Big 10. UC and Stanford moved to the ACC.
