Page PD reminds residents to lock doors after recent incidents of trespassing

PAGE, Ariz. — The Page Police Department is reminding residents to lock their doors after two incidents involving break-ins on Friday night.

Around 7pm on Friday, officers were called to a home on a report of a man trespassing.

The resident told police he was on the phone in another room when he heard noises coming from the living room. In the living room, officers observed an unknown man sitting in a chair next to the resident’s young child.

When the man was asked to leave, he allegedly grabbed the child and attempted to leave on foot.

The man was eventually tracked down by police and taken to the Coconino County Jail.

Late that night, just before midnight, the homeowner called police to report a man trespassing.

The man knocked on the door of the residence and began an argument with the homeowner. Police said the two men knew each other and had had previous disagreements.

The homeowner told the suspect to leave, but the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim before entering the residence. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Coconino County Jail.

After the two incidents, Page Police asked residents on Facebook to always be aware of your surroundings, secure your home or vehicle, and if someone is knocking, make sure you know who it is before opening the door. I called on them to do so.
