DOJ Paralegal Fired for Inappropriate Conduct
Attorney General Pam Bondi terminated a paralegal from the Department of Justice on Friday after reports surfaced of her inappropriate behavior towards National Guard members in Washington, D.C.
Elizabeth Baxter, who was part of the Environmental Division, lost her job following an investigation into several incidents that occurred this month at the DOJ’s 4CON building in the Noma area. Video footage showed Baxter arriving at work on August 18th around 8:20 AM, where she reportedly exclaimed, “F-K National Guard,” at one of the guards, according to a story by the New York Post. Later that same day, she was captured on camera directing profanities toward a security officer, yelling “F-K You!” This pattern continued on August 25th when Baxter once again expressed her disdain for the National Guard, stating, “F-K-Off!”
In a statement, Bondi remarked that she had taken decisive action to terminate employees for their misconduct towards the DC National Guard members. She emphasized that the DOJ remains committed to upholding President Trump’s agenda and ensuring public safety. “If you oppose our mission and treat law enforcement poorly, you are no longer part of the DOJ,” she added.
In the termination letter, Baxter was officially removed from her GS-11 paralegal position. This dismissal follows the earlier termination of another paralegal, Shawn Charles Dan, who allegedly threw a sandwich at customs and border security agents earlier this month. Dan now faces misdemeanor charges that could lead to up to a year in prison.
Recently, the Trump administration has deployed a considerable number of federal agents and National Guard personnel in Washington as part of a strategy aimed at reducing crime in the area.
