Chad Mizzel Leaves as Chief of Staff to AG Pam Bondy
Chad Mizzel, Chief of Staff to Florida’s Attorney General Pam Bondy, has stepped down from his position to spend more time with family, as confirmed by officials.
Mizzel was known for his support of the Trump administration’s efforts to expose left-wing groups he believed were contributing to violence across the nation. He also had a close working relationship with Stephen Miller, a deputy Chief of Staff at the White House, according to reports.
In a statement to Axios, Bondy expressed appreciation for Mizzel’s contributions, saying, “Chad played a central role as Chief of Staff, coordinating the operations of the department and ensuring our resources were aligned with our mission.” She emphasized that his guidance had a positive impact on their work promoting justice and protecting American citizens.
During his tenure, Mizzel managed both the private sector initiatives and the Civil Rights Division within the department. Assistant Attorney General Todd Blanche praised Mizzel’s leadership and unwavering commitment, noting that his steadiness contributed significantly to their objectives.
Recently, Bondy has faced some criticism from President Trump’s base. This followed a DOJ memo that indicated there was no client list related to Epstein and that their investigation had concluded. Trump has voiced dissatisfaction with Bondy’s performance, especially around prosecutorial efforts in light of a new initiative targeting “hate speech” in response to a recent event involving Charlie Kirk.
Bondy has been trying to clarify her stance, indicating the DOJ would address speech that threatens violence while navigating the thin line between free speech and hate speech. It’s a bit of a complex situation, really, and perhaps it shows the challenges she faces in maintaining support from various factions.
