Patriots’ Kayshon Boutte Arrested Over Illegal Sports Gambling While At LSU: REPORT

New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boot was arrested Thursday in Batonroot, Louisiana, on suspicion of gambling on sports while at LSU, according to ESPN.

From April 6, 2022 to May 7, 2022, Boutte, then 20 years old, was found by investigators assigned to the Louisiana State Police Gambling Enforcement Division to illegally bet on sports. An alias account believed to have been used by the former LSU star placed more than 8,900 bets, at least 70 of which were on college football games, including at least six on the Tigers, according to ESPN. It was a match.

“In July 2023, LSU became aware of a former student-athlete's allegations of inappropriate conduct related to sports betting while in college,” LSU said in a statement Thursday, according to ESPN.

“Since then, we have fully cooperated with all relevant authorities involved in the investigation and will continue to do so. There is no evidence that any other student-athletes participated in these prohibited activities. The NFL has not commented on Boutte's arrest.
