Payson Police Investigate Fatal Shooting

The Payson Police Department is looking into a murder case after a woman was discovered in a vehicle and later died.

Just before 10 AM, authorities received a report of a woman shot while inside a vehicle. When they arrived, officers detained a man and started providing medical aid to the woman. She was transported to Banner Payson Medical Center, where she was subsequently pronounced dead.

The investigation revealed that 22-year-old Donald Nash and 20-year-old Keana Honanny were in the back seat of a Honda Pilot SUV traveling in Payson.

According to law enforcement, the pair got into an altercation. As the vehicle moved through the 400 block of South Bee Line Highway, Nash reportedly pulled out a gun and shot Honanny in the head. Three other individuals were also in the car, including a one-year-old child.

Nash has been charged with second-degree murder, three counts of felony endangerment, and one count of resisting arrest. The investigation is ongoing.
