Pedestrian accident in midtown leaves one man dead | Local

Tucson, Arizona (KVOA) – A man has died after being hit by a car in Midtown.

Just before 12:15 a.m. on June 24, 2023, authorities called Block 3400 North 1st Avenue for a crash involving a male pedestrian and a white 2010 GMC Sierra pickup truck.

The pedestrian was identified as 65-year-old Curtis Anthony Wall and was pronounced dead at the scene by TFD.

After questioning and evaluating the evidence, detectives determined that Mr. Wahl was crossing First Avenue from west to east when he collided with GMC, which was heading north at the same time.

Waal was not at a marked crosswalk at the time of the crash.

The GMC driver stopped immediately after the collision and cooperated with the investigation.

It was determined that the driver was injured at the time of the collision.

The driver, identified as 26-year-old Josué André Larios, was charged with felony manslaughter and imprisoned in Pima County Jail.

According to TPD, Wahl’s sabotage along the way and Larios’ excessive speed and poor driving ability were the main factors in the crash.
