Pennsylvania Man Allegedly Attempted To Lure Child In NJ Wawa To Car With Candy

A Pennsylvania man arrested on Thursday was arrested last month on suspicion of using candy while trying to lure a child into his car.

The man was arrested last week after trying to convince a boy he met in Wawa, New Jersey, to get in his car for sweets. According to Fox29.

Camp Hill, Pennsylvania resident Thomas Cannon has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb McRae. The 79-year-old reportedly grabbed the 7-year-old’s arm after offering him candy on May 28 when the two were in Wawa, Morris River Township.

The child escaped Cannon’s grasp and ran to his mother, who was using the store’s restroom during the incident. According to Fox News.

Surveillance footage It shows Cannon leaving the store before the child’s family found out about the charges. He was believed to have left the scene in a white Toyota 4Runner.
