Peter Doocy Reveals Why He Was Absent From Network For Months

Fox News’ White House correspondent Peter Doocy said he took several months off from the station to care for his young daughter Bridget.

Doocy returned Monday after taking paternity leave in late spring after his wife, Fox News congressional correspondent Hilary Vaughn, returned to work. The couple welcomed their daughter on February 1st.

The White House correspondent spoke passionately about being a father and shared an adorable photo of a father and his daughter. As a first-time father, he spent much of his downtime playing with baby Bridget, throwing him in the pool, and even dreaming of becoming a future president.

A colleague of Peter’s gave Doucy and Vaughan pink onesies with the words “Future President” written on them.

“Watch the Fox News Democracy 2060 coverage,” Doocy said.

Doocy announced the birth of Bridget Blake Doocy in a social media post on February 9th.He and his wife announced they were pregnant with a girl during the ‘Fox & Friends’ show segment In September, his father, Steve Doocy, shared a recipe from his cookbook.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said at a White House news conference on January 3. joked Doocy said he should name his daughter after her. Doucy replied that the couple intended to accept Jean-Pierre’s proposal “under advice”.

He also Posted An Instagram post on Jan. 6 showed a photo of him shouting and asking President Joe Biden a question. He captioned the post, “Mr. President, what should we name our daughter?”
