joining Pima Animal Care CenterFriends of PACC, and various four-legged friends held a unique celebration of Pima County pets along Historic Fourth Avenue on February 19th.
In addition to hundreds of animals, the Tucson Subaru Pets of Pima Parade features bands, floats, entertainers, costumed characters, classic vehicles and more. District 3 Supervisor Sharon Bronson will serve as Grand His Marshal for the parade and help celebrate Pima County’s animal progress. The February 19 parade will be hosted by the Friends of Pima Animal Care Center in support of PACC’s pets and programs.
The parade route begins at the northeast corner of 4th and 5th Avenues and continues down 4th Avenue beginning at 10am. Then, at 11:30 am, “His Four Legs of the 4th Festival” follows. Until 3pm Parade Route Festival on 4th and 7th Avenues features live entertainment and events on the Tucson Federal Credit Union Stage, courtesy of Arizona Music Connection. Pet-themed arts and crafts vendor fair.
Pet families can join in the fun in either the “Raising Cane’s Procesión de los Perros”, the “TEP Cat Convoy”, or the “Pet Pride” parade segment for all other pet types. To participate in the parade, he must raise $50 or more to help animals at the PACC. Children 17 and under can register with their families for free, so the whole family can enjoy the parade. Companies and organizations can also host teams to participate in the parade.

If you’d like to celebrate in a different way, FOX11 and My18 are reruns of this year’s parade. Spectators are encouraged to attend the parade and festival.
PACC Animal Services Director Monica Dangler said events like the Tucson Subaru Pets at Pima Parade are vital to the shelter’s life-saving efforts.
“Thanks to the generous sponsorship and donations from Friends of PACC and the community, we have improved the lives of people and pets throughout Pima County,” said Dangler. “We sincerely appreciate your support and look forward to celebrating the human-animal bond at the parade.”
The parade will also showcase Shelter’s new ‘PACCmobile’. This is used countywide to provide resources for creating new families and keeping pets and their people together. Adelita Grijalva, Chair of the Pima County Supervisory Board, will be PACCmobile’s co-pilot, greeting parade participants and highlighting the expected impact of her mobile unit across the county.
